Sa biglang tingin ay larawan si Elaine [Katya Santos] ng isang kontentong babae sa piling ng kanyang asawang si Orly [Raymund Bagatsing]. Ngunit sa likod ng animo'y maayos na pagsasama, may suliranin silang dinadala patungkol sa kakayanan ni Orly sa kama.  Ang suliraning ito'y naging dahilan ng pagiging bugnutin ni Orly na labis na ikinasama ng loob ni Elaine. Dahil dito ay sinubukan niyang idarang ang sarili sa apoy ng panunukso ni Miguel [Carlo Maceda], isang mapusok na binatang nangahas magpakilala sa kanya.  Ninais ni Elaine na magwala at mag-eksperimento at naranasan niya kay Miguel ang kakaibang ligayang hindi niya nararanasan sa piling ng asawa.  Halos mahulog na ang loob niya kay Miguel habang si Orly ay patuloy na nahihirapan sa pagsusuyo sa kanya upang maibalik ang dating sigla ng kanilang pagsasama.  Lingid sa kaalaman ni Elaine ay pinaglalaruan lamang siya ni Miguel at nais lamang siyang isama nito sa kanyang koleksiyon ng mga babaeng naikakama niya.  Mabubulag si Elaine sa pita ng laman hanggang sa umabot ang lahat sa sukdulan na magbabadya ng tiyak na kapahamakan.

Isang simple at halos karaniwang kuwento ng pagtataksil ang Sukdulan na binudburan ng iilang bagong elemento upang mabigyan ito ng panibagong bihis.  Mahuhusay ang pagkakaganap ng mga pangunahing tauhan na sina Raymund Bagatsing at Katya Santos.  Kapansin-pansin din ang husay ni Daria Ramirez bilang bulag na ina ni Orly. Ang baguhan namang si Carlo Maceda ay nangangapa pa sa pag-arte. Kontrolado ang daloy ng kuwento na nakasentro sa babaeng nagsubok magtaksil sa asawa. Ngunit kitang-kitang may mga ginaya sa pelikulang Unfaithful. Hindi rin kapani-paniwala ang maraming eksena ng pagtatalik na ginawa sa mga kakatwang sitwasyon.  Bagama't kathang-isip, malayong-malayo na mangyari ang mga eksenang ito sa tunay na buhay sapagkat kulang sa lohikal na pagsasalarawan ang Sukdulan.  Hindi rin nito nakuhang palalimin ang emosyon at karakter ng mga tauhan.

Talamak na tema sa pelikula sa kasalukuyang panahon ang pagtataksil ng asawang babae. Ang mga ito kaya'y kathang isip lamang o tunay na nangyayari sa kasalukuyan? Maari rin kayang ito ay hindi naman talaga bago ngunit maaaring senyales lamang ng nagbabagong pagtingin at pananaw sa imahe ng kababaihan? Kung ito ay paraan ng paglaban sa namamayaning "double standard" sa lipunan, maaari itong katanggap-tanggap. Ngunit hindi ito ang nagiging kaso tulad sa pelikulang Sukdulan.  Bagama't naging matapang ang bidang babae sa paglaban sa pang-aapi ng asawa, pinalutang pa rin ang kahinaan nito sa pagpapagamit at pagiging sunod-sunuran sa kalaguyong lalaki na pinaglaruan lamang siya.  Lumulutang sa pelikula ang pagsasabi nitong mas matinding parusa sa kapahamakan ang mangyayari kapag ang babae ang magtataksil at kahanga-hanga ang isang lalaking kayang magpaikot ng babae sa kanilang palad.  Oo nga't sinasabi ng pelikula na walang kahihinatnan ang pagtataksil kundi kapahamakan, taliwas pa rin ito sa dami at haba ng mga eksena ng pagtatalik na siyang tunay na bentahe ng pelikula. Walang mabuting mapapala sa pelikulang katulad nito.

First thank you to Ms. Larry Ganda of Viva Entertainment for giving us tickets for the red carpet premier screening of X-Deal last night at Robinsons Galleria Cinema 3.

It is our first time to see an R-18 indie film which made us curious to see this. The story revolves with 3 characters Dana (Jamilla Obispo) a tomboy girl who trades drugs for her personal necessities. Billy (Jon Hall) a buff photographer whose into sexual fantasies and a very horny guy. Sara (Paloma) who dress up in different characters to fulfill the sexual fantasies of Billy. As the story moves on Billy made a deal to Dana exchanging one night with him for one night with Sara.

Obviously the film is too hot to handle with two former FHM cover girls expect sizzling scenes. Also watch out for the flirtatious part between Jamilla and Paloma making out on the sofa. Overall it is not the kind of movie i like but if you are willing to see them in action you better watch it on September 7.

Si Helen (Ara Mina) ay isang mahigpit na Ate sa nakababatang kapatid na si Cleo (Cristine Reyes). Simula’t sapul, si Helen na ang nag-alaga sa kapatid. Subalit nasasakal na si Cleo sa nagiging paghihigpit ng kanyang Ate Helen lalo na kung ang pinakikialaman nito ay ang kanyang buhay pag-ibig. Minsang inutusan ni Helen ang asawa niyang si Dave (Paolo Paraisio) na paghiwalayin si Cleo at ang nobyo nitong patapon na at  ito ay ikinasama ng loob ni Cleo. Sa kabilang banda ay dumadaan sa matinding pagsubok ang pagsasama nina Helen at Dave. Hindi sila magkaanak matapos ang limang taon nilang pagsasama. Dahil kumpirmadong si Helen ang may diprensiya, unti-unting nanlalamig sa kanya si Dave. Dala ng kani-kanilang emosyon, magkakaroon ng ugnayan sina Cleo at Dave lingid sa kaalaman ni Helen na pilit binabalikan ng dating kasintahang si Lex (Ian Veneracion).

Maayos ang pagkakagawa ng pelikulang Ate at mahusay ang sinematograpiya at pagkaka-edit na siyang nagbigay ng bagong bihis sa halos palasak na kuwento ng mag-ate. Pasado rin ang pag-arte nina Ara Mina at Cristine Reyes. Bagama’t maikli ay markado ang papel ni Eddie Garcia bilang lolo. Si Paolo Paraiso naman ay medyo hilaw pa sa pag-arte. Ayos na sana ang kuwento sa kabuuan ngunit maraming butas ang kailangan pa nitong punan. Napabayaan ang karakter ni Lex. Hindi rin gaanong malinaw ang pinanggagalingan ng galit ni Cleo sa kapatid. Pawang mga kababawan kasi ang dahilan ng kanyang pagkamuhi dito. Hindi rin kumbinsido ang manonood na basta na lang mai-inlove si Dave kay Cleo ganung mas may mga higit na  katangian si Helen. Wala ring sapat na eksenang nagpapakita na sila Dave at Cleo ay nagkakapalagayang-loob. Panay pagtatalik lamang ang kanilang ginagawa sa tuwing sila’y nagkikita.

Maaaring nangyayari sa totoong buhay ang kuwento ng Ate at kapuri-puri ang hangarin ng pelikula na bigyan ng bagong anyo ang kuwento. Ngunit sadyang nakakabahala ang pinakita nitong kinahinatnan ng mga karakter na nagkasala. Walang naparusahan, walang naghirap at wala ring lubusang nagsisi. Pawang lahat sila ay panahon at pagkakataon ang sinisisi at hindi ang kanilang sarili. Paanong ang isang nakiapid sa asawa ng kapatid ay hindi man lang nagsisi sa kanyang ginawa at naging mapagmataas pa ito? Paanong ang isang asawa ay hindi man lang naghirap ang damdamin at hindi binagabag ng konsensya matapos lokohin ang asawa? Bagama’t maganda ang mensahe ng Ate ukol sa pagmamahal at pagpapatawad, nakababahala naman ang mensahe nito sa mga kabataan na pawang kinokonsinte ang pagrerebelde at pre-marital at extra-marital sex. Marami rin eksenang maseselan na hindi angkop sa batang manonood.

The story opens with Brandon and Shy, negotiating for a lease of an old room owned by Stella. Brix, a travelling salesman and Stella’s live-in partner deals with the couple in behalf of the landlady.
